Showcasing its TrustBroker™ products, which offer more than just Single Sign-On
LONDON – April 30, 2012 – CyberSafe, a leading security software vendor and SAP partner, today announced it will showcase its TrustBroker™ products at the SAPPHIRE® NOW and ASUG Annual Conference being held in Orlando, Florida, May 14-16, where CyberSafe will exhibit in booth 207. CyberSafe’s TrustBroker products are used to implement a range of Kerberos and Active Directory-based security solutions, primarily for use with SAP® business applications.
"We are looking forward to showing our market-leading software at the SAPPHIRE NOW and ASUG Annual Conference,” said Tim Alsop, CEO, CyberSafe. “Interest and use of our products has been growing vigorously, and we have exciting new features and functionality to announce at the conference.”
The CyberSafe TrustBroker products include TrustBroker Adapter and TrustBroker Secure Client, both certified for integration with the SAP NetWeaver® technology platform. They deliver a quick ROI, reduce costs, solve compliance concerns, further improve security of SAP business applications, and significantly improve user productivity. They are designed to take full advantage of an existing Active Directory infrastructure, and can be used for Secure Single Sign-On (Secure SSO) and encryption of application data in transit, taking full advantage of the Kerberos protocol included in Microsoft Windows operating systems and in Microsoft Active Directory.
The productivity and cost savings the products deliver are impressive; one CyberSafe customer has saved 22.6 million minutes over a two-year period by using the TrustBroker products. This equates to savings of 48 minutes per employee per month when they use TrustBroker products to log on to SAP business applications.
The CyberSafe TrustBroker products include an implementation of Kerberos built entirely by CyberSafe and designed to improve security, and user authentication and protect critical business applications. TrustBroker includes many advanced features compared to typical SSO products, such as enhanced auditing, which reduces the time to troubleshoot authentication issues; automatic encryption key renewal, which improves overall application security; and support for a wide range of authentication methods, including X.509 Certificate, RSA SecurID, Active Directory Account and Password and more.
“It is not uncommon to find that users need to keep track of a large number of different identities and credentials for authentication,” commented Alsop. “Having multiple credentials reduces security, is expensive, and causes users to sometimes circumvent an organization’s security policy. Instead, a single unique identity for each user, and authentication credentials are preferred, which means a centrally managed authentication infrastructure is needed, as well as products to allow that infrastructure to be utilized when users log on to SAP business applications.”
While many vendors who provide authentication solutions for SAP business applications concentrate on selling just Single Sign-On (SSO) capabilities, CyberSafe recognizes that SSO is not always possible or desirable. While it is a good fit for many users, and SSO is fully supported by the TrustBroker products, there are exceptions where, although a single identity with authentication credentials can be used, users may still need to perform multiple authentications (Multiple Sign-On), or authenticate their identity using different credentials. For example, multiple users might use a shared workstation, and each user needs to log on to the SAP business applications using their own identity and credentials. If SSO were implemented on these shared workstations, the user would not get the screen asking them to authenticate, resulting in the compliance concern of a shared password. It is therefore necessary to turn off SSO for shared workstations, yet still allow multiple users to log on using their own unique single identity, with a single credential, without having to log off Windows and log on again as a different user each time the user changes.
“Whether you are looking for Single Sign-On, Active Directory authentication for SAP business applications, or have more complex requirements, TrustBroker products allow you to streamline your organization’s authentication processes, offer improved security and provide an enhanced user experience that goes beyond Single Sign-On,” added Alsop.
